Tankless Water Heaters
Since this system heats water directly, you don’t have to worry about running out of hot water. In addition, the system only heats water when you want it to, reducing your heating costs by up to 40%.
However, to enjoy the benefits of a tankless water heater, it has to stay in good condition. Tankless water heaters that are damaged or exhibit early signs of wear and tear are inefficient in heating water. In addition, they have the tendency to use more energy and raise your electrical bill over time.
Caring For Your Tankless Water Heater
Tankless water heating systems must receive regular maintenance to perform at their best. TriState Home Services can help! Our technicians can help you make an informed decision about whether a tankless water heater is right for your home, perform the instillation, and provide regular maintenance to ensure your system is working properly for years to come.
Pressure Tank Services
Why The Pressure Tank Is So Important
When your pressure tank malfunctions, water will not flow as smoothly; some days, the faucets will slow to a trickle, and other times, you may have no water at all. Delaying repairs to your pressure tank can increase the risk of problems like tank leaks and warping.
Maintain Your Pressure Tank’s Performance
If you notice that your pressure tank’s water flow isn’t as efficient as before, it may need to be repaired or replaced.
Our fully licensed and certified technicians are trained to diagnose and treat these issues, and help you decide the right next steps for your home and your needs. TriState Home Services offers help with all your pressure tank needs, including installation (air-over-water, diaphragm, bladder, etc), maintenance and inspection.

The WaterTender® system makes the water in your home taste better, safer to drink, and saves you money by eliminating the need to buy bottled water.

Water Alarm Services
Water leakage is something that can start small and go unnoticed, until it grows into a bigger, messier, and more expensive situation. But what if you could be alerted as soon as a leak begins?
Water alarms will detect any moisture or water leaks and send you a warning before any damage has been done. Water alarms can be used anywhere at risk of water damage, but they are mostly used in kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and utility rooms. They are also widely used for monitoring sump pumps, hoses, and other areas where water leakage could occur.
Your water provider must take reasonable precautions to protect the community distribution system from hazards originating in the homes and businesses of its customers. One example of this responsibility is a Cross Connection Control Program which is authorized to monitor, inspect, investigate and survey all known and potential cross connection to the public water supply system, both on public and private property.
A critical part of the program is the testing and maintenance of backflow prevention devices. These devices are commonly found on residential and commercial fire sprinkler systems, lawn irrigation systems, and residential and commercial boilers. Having your backflow preventer tested is important not only to comply with the law, but also for the protection of your family. There are over 10,000 reported cases of backflow contamination each year, some of which are fatal.
In order to comply with this type of program, it is usually the responsibility of the property owner to maintain all backflow preventers by having them tested annually and replaced every 5 years.
TriState Home Services can help you avoid fines and protect the health and safety of your family. We offer full testing and replacing of backflow devices.

Toilet Repair Service
Every once in a while, your toilet may encounter a plumbing problem. In many of these situations, you can likely solve the problem yourself. But not every clogged drain can be solved so easily. An issue may arise that requires professional assistance. It is also important to note that in some situations, your standard go-to method may cause more damage to your toilet, leading to even more repairs.
One major source of water damage on a property is from a busted supply line, which supplies the water to your toilet. If not caught early enough, the damage from a failed supply line can be quite extensive, causing the water to run until you turn it off at the main cutoff.
Professional Toilet Repair Service
TriState Home Services has been in the plumbing, heating and cooling business for over 65 years. Our experience has allowed us to perfect our craft and provide excellent service. Our toilet repair service is just one of the many plumbing services that render high-quality results. Repairing a toilet can get dangerous, especially if the pipes are heavily clogged; and using the wrong toilet repair technique can make the problem worse, creating a higher risk of a burst pipe or toilet overflow scenario. TriState Home Services ensures that these toilet-related incidents won’t occur by completing the repairs properly from start to finish.

Burst and Frozen Pipes
Whenever the outside temperature reaches its freezing point, your plumbing system becomes susceptible to all kinds of problems. One of the biggest is a frozen pipe, which happens when ice forms inside or around the pipes. If you don’t weatherize your plumbing beforehand, it can create leaks and escalate into a burst pipe. A burst pipe is more difficult to repair because it not only breaks the pipe, but it can also tear your flooring and walls apart.
A burst or frozen pipe is unlike any other common plumbing problem you’ve encountered, and it needs to be repaired properly. If not, you risk exposing yourself to contaminants that are carried by the water. You also leave your property open to various types structural water damage, including:
- Musty odors
- Mold and mildew growth
- Dry rot
- Premature decaying and weakening of organic materials (e.g. wood)
How to Deal With Frozen Pipes
1. Identify the Signs of a Frozen Water Pipe
- Lumps in the pipes
- Water line covered with frost
- No water coming out of the faucet, shower head, etc.
- Strange smells from faucet (usually caused by a blockage in the plumbing system)
If you encounter any of these problems, you can proceed with attempting to thaw the pipes. Just remember to act with extreme caution, so as not to make the situation worse.
2. Prepare to Thaw the Pipes
Once you have your cleaning materials on hand, you can start thawing the pipes. To know which pipes are frozen, you can feel the temperature with your hand or use an infrared thermometer.
When the problem areas are located, you can use a heat lamp, space heater, or hair dryer to thaw the ice. You can also try wrapping towels that have been soaked in hot water around them.
It’s especially important not to use anything with an open flame (e.g. propane heater, kerosene, blowtorch, etc.) when thawing frozen pipes. Doing so places you at a higher risk of creating a fire.
3. If All Else Fails, Call TriState!
If the pipes don’t thaw quickly, there’s a good chance that the frozen pipe will burst. This happens when there’s a lot of pressure contained in the plumbing system, which causes the structure to expand and break.
A burst pipe can be disastrous. Here are just a few problems that could arise:
- Severe property damage
- Indoor flooding
- Water contamination
- Mold and mildew growth
- Infestation of water-loving insects and vermin
- High exposure to waterborne diseases, illnesses, and viruses
In this situation, the best solution is to call a professional plumber for help. We have the experience, expertise, and the necessary equipment to fix or replace damaged pipes quickly and safely. We can also help you continue thawing your plumbing system through various winterization methods. Plus, we’ll take care of the clean up!
Your TriState Home Services technician will inspect the pipes throughout the entirety of your home. They will diagnose and repair any burst or frozen pipes, and clean up on our way out. We offer after hours services for emergencies like this.
