About Me

Bringing yourself to the point of asking for assistance can be difficult. Seeking couples therapy can be challenging. Discrete, confidential help is just a phone call or email away. Helping you achieve the quality life you seek is my priority. I provide clinical psychotherapy in the Tampa Palms area, in a safe, professional setting, and online with BetterHelp.com.
Specialized focus: military/law enforcement/first responders and their families. As a retired law enforcement officer and US Army veteran I have extensive first hand experience in dealing with trauma, grief, loss, and related family distress.
Additional concerns addressed include depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, couples issues, individual issues, and family conflict. I specialize in addressing adults who have fractured parent relationships which are eroding their adult personal relationship developments. I also specialize in stress management and perspective development.
I look forward to working with you, Dr. Collins

I think his law enforcement background gives him an edge to understanding concerns that I don't necessarily voice. He reads body language and nonverbal cues, and is able to cut through the fat around situations and get right to the bone of it. Definitely a no nonsense kind of guy, but compassionate. Provides basic examples that don't offend either my boyfriend or myself, and is willing to listen quietly for tens of minutes to hear the full story. He's patient and uses humor to level the field. 5 stars

I appreciate Dr.Collin’s approach the most. The reason being, that he understands what works best for both of us as individuals. He is soft, kind and gentle with me and for my fiancé he understands that he appreciates and maybe needs a stronger more straightforward approach. Dr.Collins is really a great guy, very genuine and very easy to talk to. We both appreciate our time with him so much. He has helped our relationship grow in so many ways. Although we both still have work to do, we are growing as individuals and with each other. I know we both love each other but without the guidance of Dr.Collins we may have fallen apart because of silly anger over things that should never come between us. He is becoming a better listener and I am getting better about relaxing and letting some more things go. No matter how bad we were he never charged us double! Hahaha
